For the ultimate in luxury & convenience, most custom window treatments can be motorized. The methods of motorization vary and depend on your specific window. Some systems are powered by batteries and others by household current. Also, most motorized products can be controlled as part of sophisticated home automation systems, such as Lutron® Homeworks, Crestron®, Control4®, and HAI®.
We utilize the Somfy motorization system frequently. Their Altus (RTS) system offers a built in radio frequency (RF) receiver in the roller tube. The advantage of this system is that it allows for easy after installation programming from the handheld remote of RF wall switch. This allows our installer to program the individual or group control on the job, so should someone change their mind about how shades are grouped, it is an easy on the job change, without expensive rewiring. It also allows adding remotes or wall switches without rewiring. Somfy also carries a new Sonese® line of ultra quiet motors in 110 or 24 Volt options.
Lutron® Homeworks motorization is another favorite option at The Shade Shop. Lutron is know for their QED, Quiet Electronic Drive, line of motors. This 24 volt system is easily controlled by an extensive line of switches. These switches are known for being available in a lot of colors, beyond the standard white & ivory. Lutron Sivoia QED® shades can also be controlled by the Homeworks® (Wireless Series, 4 Series or 8 Series) or GRAFIK Eye® system. We can integrate your shades with lighting, home theatre, A/V presentation, conference and classroom.
